Some online tools can be wide open or only visible to certain people that are invited. Some schools will use Moodle to set up their class blogs because what is written can only be seen by the individuals within an assigned group. Google Docs can be shared within an assigned group as well like we have done. If you wanted to share some work with the public you could set up a wiki or Google Site and use one of their widgets to pull in a document that you would choose to publish. For discussion you can insert comments as we have done. Finding what will work best for you will be the trick.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nOne thing about Facebook is that the kids already know how to use it...it's there way of life. I like the notifications button that let's you know that others have posted things for you to see. You can go to the Notify Me tab at the top of the wiki and choose some options for notifications as well.
